Returning a gift for a different size from walmart?

My son got a coat for his birthday from walmart but I need to get him a different size. My mother in law got it for him but she cant find the receipt she also took the tag where it said the price and took it off. So the coat has no barcode. All I want is a new size do you think they should exchange it?

    they could – have the door greeter pick stamp it as you enter
    and see the Managers at Customer Service

    they may need to have a department worker verify that
    they sell this coat at their store – and may exchange it for you
    may be a small upcharge for a larger size

    —– I was just in Kansas, helping my sister move
    went to Wally World – their peanuts that I buy in Florida
    for $2.28 were only $1.58 !!!! I am moving to Salina!

    they most likely will, they know the brands they carry and can get the number

    Look in the coat and find the tag, NOT the tag they attach and your MIL took off, but the tag inside that has the size, wash instructions, and materials it was made out of on it. (if it isn’t located at the neckline try looking on the right of left side of the coat in between the arm holes and the bottom.) on this tag there should be a 9 digit number. That is the barcode.
    If it doesn’t have a 9 digit number on it then you still will most likely be able to exchange it. They will just need a associate to come up and verify it is a walmart coat. good luck.

    Edit: sometimes it will be a 10 or 11 digit code and may say upc before it.

    walmart is usually quite good at exchanges with out tag or receipt as long as the item is still in season. just explain the situation and they should be able to process the exchange for you
