Scanning something with a BarCode?
Scanning something with a BarCode?
I have a ticket for a concert, and it has a BarCode on it. I want to scan it to my computer but i want to know if it will mess up the BarCode or anything. Thanks a lot.
Best answer:
it should not mess it up, because you can scan a bar code as many times as you want, what they do with the bar code at the concert when it is scanned it goes into a program that they have that make sures that the ticket is real and that no one else has used the ticket already

Don’t scan that ticket@@!!
MICR (magnetically impregnated color replication) ink is used to generate that barcode. The low radiation infrared light from the scanner’s CCD’s (charged couple device) will render that ink useless. They don’t use just any old off-the-shelf toner! When they scan your barcode, it will not read thus invalidating your ticket!! just joking.
The barcode is just that–a code of bars. Depending the on the code type (Code 39, Code 128, etc) it’s probably just a serial number validated against their database(s) to ensure that the ticket was not a counterfeit.
As a matter of fact, you can create your own barcode(s) here! barcoding.com/upc/

It’s just ink on paper. Scan it like you would any other item. :)
