Most wireless routers have ethernet ports, usually 4 of them. If you get a wireless router you are set if you have a need for wireless. If you go with a wired router and buy a laptop, you will have to purchase an additional wireless access point if you want wireless connection. I would suggest wireless for this reason.

Easiest way is to go wireless because you won’t need to run wires from each computer to the router. You can setup the printer to work when your main computer is on or you cant get yourself a printer server box so the printer is independent of either computer.

what you need is a wired router. wireless routers transmit to eachother through waves which can cause lag in some software. trust me i had wireless and it irritated me to no end so just do yourself a favor and get a wired router.

It all depends on the locations of your equipment in your house and whether or not there is structured wiring in your house. You will get a very poor wireless signal if the receiving unit is at an angle and either above or below the transmitter (not on same floor).
I solved this problem by running a segment of CAT 5e from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor and installing a wireless router set up as an access point. My link quality and signal strength is 93-100% anywhere in my house.

Aldo,
Wireless router comes with Ethernet port which means
they can be use as wired router as well. If both PCs are in the same room and close to each other I will use a wired router. If both PC are far away from each other I will buy a wireless router. The first PC near the router can be pluged into the wiireless router using the
internet port. That PC will use a LAN and won’t be wireless.
The second PC far away from the router will need a Wireless USB adapter(check if your PC comes with one already first)
This particular PC will act as wireless and this particular PC will need to have the installation done on it with the CD who comes with the router. Make sure you use the WEP encryption key while installing the wireless router for security issues.
Email me if you have more questions,
Joe
