Spiritually speaking, does anyone know why Google’s name is a barcode?
Google usually styles its name after events, like the 4th of July, Christmas, etc. but I don’t know why it is a bar code now.

    Today, the barcode is Google’s logo. This Google doodle commemorates the issuance of the patent for the barcode, which happened October 7, 1952 with US Patent 2,612,994.

    Today is the 57th anniversary of the first patent on the bar code.

    FYI: Whenever Google has something above its name, you can put your cursor on it and it will tell you what it is.

    when you click on their name (in barcode), it brings up a news story explaining it.

    Usually if Google has an odd logo if you click on the logo itself it will link to an article or somesuch that explains what random interesting thing they are acknowledging.
