The Green AV virus is back in my task bar!?

The Green AV virus is back in my task bar!?
A couple of weeks back I noticed a new symbol in my task bar, it stated that it was my Windows Defender so I didn’t think much of it. A couple of days later it started giving me all of these pop-ups about how my computer had all these trojans and viruses and I needed to download this Green AV. I downloaded it as I thought it was part of the Windows Defender, but my AVG scanner flagged it as a trojan download.

I went through the process of deleting everything, defragged my system, restarted my hard drive for the week before, and I scanned my system in safe-mode. I thought that it was gone, but I just turned on my laptop today and noticed that the symbol is back in my task bar again. I don’t want to click on it–how do I get rid of this thing?

Best answer:

Download, install and update Malwarebytes. Then run a full scan in Safe Mode.

You have an infection. Turn off the restore program, boot up in safe mode, tap the F8 key on restart, use the arrows and enter key, select safe mode with networking, Get the free version of this. malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
    Update and do full scan.
When done, restart in normal, turn restore program back on.
    EDIT : 2-spyware.com/remove-green-av.html

you should download a proper antivirus
such as Trend -Micro or Kasparesky or NOD32 or panda or Bit-Defender
these are pay programs but you can use them for free to get rid of the virus
then buy them get rid of the crap you have likeAVG and disable the
windows defender they couldn’t find their collective butts with both hands and a flashlight

    Try this:
Hit F8 button repeatedly as you are starting your computer. This will get you into Safe Mode with Networking.
