Thermal transfer printing, thermal direct printing and inkjet printing: which one is cheapest in the long run?

Thermal transfer printing, thermal direct printing and inkjet printing: which one is cheapest in the long run?

Hi guys,

My old thermal direct printing fax machine just died (we just had the funeral, it was very sad..). Anyway, so now I want to buy a fax machine, but I can’t seem to find any machines like my old one! I’m going to have to throw away all my thermal paper!

So, what should I buy now? Which one is the most cost effective? Thermal transfer or inkjet? Or maybe laser?

Thanks guys!
Shant

I opted to go with the laser printer this time. The ink is in a dry powder form so it never dries up on you. I can use cheap multi-purpose paper or more expensive paper. The toners are bigger and cost more for each color but when you get to use all of your ink, I think its a good deal. I think I got 3 pkgs of 500 sheets through it with only the starter toner which is about half of the replacements. And a lot of that was pictures for my photo album. I don’t have pictures developed any more, I print them off my self. I really like my laser printer.

laser printer is cheapest, just check the cost of consumables and how many pages they can do.
