Using an inkjet printer, how can I print a coupon with a barcode that will be scannable at the register?

Using an inkjet printer, how can I print a coupon with a barcode that will be scannable at the register?
I get printable coupons from Blockbuster Online, but the only way I can print them so that Blockbuster can scan them at their registers is if I find a public laser printer to print them off.

Best answer:

I have an inkjet printer and it prints UPC codes just fine. You may have to download a coupon printer program from the site you are getting coupons from. Go to BettyCrocker.com, you may be able to download one from there as well as get grocery coupons. Good Luck!

Try different print quality settings. Draft.Normal, Best…and see if one works. I print Airline boarding passes and the bar code is read fine.

you can do it on an ink jet. Most today are crisp enough for a scanner to read. I do it all the time with air miles on my HP. If by chance it can’t be scanned, there should be a PLU number for the clerk to honour the coupon with anyhow.
