Virus Problem?

Virus Problem?
About 2 days ago i turned on my computer and their was a symbol on the bottem right corner called antivirus2008. A bubble came up and said that i had poor security and many viruses. I clicked the exit on the bubble and a virus scan came up. It showed 42 viruses on my computer. I clicked the option to delete them but it told me i had to get it licensed. So i hit get a licensed and it said i had to pay , I laft because i could tell this was some kind of virus or somthing. We have a virus scanner called panda security and it is top of the line. When i ran panda security it showed i had no viruses. I decided to delete the files for the antivirus2008 when i noticed that it had downloaded itself onto my computer. So i uninstalled however it is still on my computer. I tryed to delete the files to it but it will not grant me access. Since i could not delete the files i tracked 5 of the 42 files antivirus2008 said were virus and they contain no virus and been thier for a while. Whats Wrong?

Best answer:

antivirus2008 is probably lying to you to get your money.

the virus is the thing that calls itself “antivirus2008″. boot into safe mode and use the system restore feature to roll the computer back to a point before the antivirus thing installed itself. and that panda security thing….it’s not top of the line. if it was I would know about it. I suggest you kick that thing to the curb and use AVG, or better yet, spysweeper with antivirus.

I’m sorry but ask around, Panda isn’t that great. I use NOD 32, it’s absolutely fabulous. I’ve used Norton….crap, McAfee….crapola, Zone Alarm….okay but drove me crazy and used too many resources, Panda…. never found a thing, I could go on but you get the drift.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, STOP using Internet Explorer. Download Firefox or Opera and only use IE if you have to. :)
