Virus,how do I reset?

My screen has turned red and I went into a repair shop to ask and the man asked if I had a ‘license number’on the side.I t looks like a bar code and I have,he will fix it he said for £35 etc,if I have this barcode type label,how do I save myself £35 and do it myself?can anyone send me a dick heads insruction step by step LOL as I know virtually nothing about computers!It’s definately a virus and this barcode license number is the key to reset.

    Can you set a previous restore point or down load latest graphics driver from the manufaturers web site of your PC.
    See if that works. Also try computer management and device manager. look at your graphics adapters.

    Just insert your Windows CD and follow the instructions then when it asks for your code carefully type it in.
