What are the barcodes printed on exam papers for?
On the front paper of all my exams it says DO NOT WRITE IN ANY BARCODES. There are barcodes on every page of the booklet. I accidentally wrote in one. What are they for? Will this affect whether or not the examiner is able to mark it? I take international exams so the papers are scanned in and sent all around the world for marking I think.
Best answer:
the barcodes tell the scantron machine what version of the test is to be graded. it probably won’t make a difference as long as the other bar codes are readable
