the light that is immited can be converted to pure light (Consisting of all colors) then shot toward an object. The object then absorbs of of the color that it is and returns all the colors it is not. dictationg a numerical function to a computer which can decipher what color the object is the lens is looking at. Wierd science dude

A barcode reader is the input device used by something else to perform a function such as retrieve data based upon the unique pattern of the barcode. An simple example would be retrieving the cost of an item scanned in an retail sales store. Another example is to select and load the computer code to operate a machine to make a specific part.
Basically, barcodes readers where developed as a fast and reliable method of providing computers with readable data displayed graphically in a compact simple format.

well, if you can’t be bothered to type you can make barcodes that have web addys in and put the scanner over the barcode when your cursor is in the address bar and press the button.
