What do you think about a barcode under your skin?

What do you think about a barcode under your skin?
It would mean no more i.d.’s, credit cards, social security cards, etc… It personally freaks me out. What is your opinion? What would you do? What if it was a priority?

Hopefully I get some answers this time.

Ill pick the most intelligent answer. Try not to make it ten pages long, if possible. Thanks guys!
It’s in the making… thats why I asked.

Best answer:

i think it’s the mark of the beast, read Revelations in the Bible, theres something in there about that.

it would be easier to identify people when theyre dead(assuming they havent decomposed yet of course) but i think it would actually be kinda cool..

I think it is a bad idea…I wouldn’t go for it. Eventually people will learn how to replicate these so called barcodes thus making it even easier to steal someones identity because everything is in one place. Also we are not damn robots we are human beings.

I don’t think our civilization is ready for something so “1984″ as that… Big Brother is already a concern for most of us, I don’t want a bar-code or chip implant or anything like that… maybe in a few generations, but not yet. Too Creepy!!

With the latest technologies involving tracking chips, I don’t think the implanting process would be a major problem. But, I like the idea of personal identification since there’s so much identity theft in the world. Therefore, if it was a priority, I don’t think I would mind.

I think it is creepy…… the only thing useful about it that I see…. is if someone is found dead….. this can help identify the body… and I don’t think it would eliminate all of the other things you mentioned because….. a person would have to be physically there to submit the bar code to make transactions and reports…..

A kidnapper could scan your barcode and make transactions otherwise…..

That sounds weird. But technology is growing every day. I think it really would help alot, then you wouldn’t have to worry about identity theft.

I was actually going to make a joke here about aliens but realise this is indeed a serious question.

What ALWAYS springs to mind when I hear topics like this, barcodes, cctv cameras etc is a novel written by Mr. Eric Arthur Blair otherwise known as George Orwell the book “1984″ this startling piece of literature was way ahead of its time and as such was extremely prophetic we already do live in a big brotheresque way where our privacy is undermined and our identity is there in the public sector and us the people don’t have a say so.

Personally it creeps me out. I wouldn’t want that crap on/under my skin even it was a priority.

    Fantastic innovation!

Would the bar code contain the numbers “666″?

I agree with the first answerer – read Revelations. It’s scary stuff.
