What is the best way to get sticky labels off of glass?

I’ve bought some new glass items and the price tags/labels are extremely sticky. They won’t come off, any tips?

wet the labels and adhesive and rub with a towel. if that doesnt work, a razor blade should do it…

Get most of it off. Then apply some peanutbutter to it. Rub it in really good. Let them sit for a little bit then take a dry rag and rub in circular motion. It will take them off.

There is a product called “Goo Gone” that you can get at the grocery store with the cleaning supplies. I think it is orange-based. It works wonders with sticky stuff.

Try using a paper towel saturated in rubbing alcohol. (There are some products made specifically for removing sticky thing from glass, but I’m assuming you’re looking for something you can use that you probably already have on hand…)

The answer is simple. Use a dab of lighter fluid on a paper towel, (or apply directly to the lable), it will come right off. It is one item that is always in my cleaning closet. It never scratches even on plastic, washes off clean, and completely disolves any lable or tag that is sticky. (Also removed gum from any surface such as rugs, clothing, etc ). I have never had lighter fluid discolor or cause any problem when used in this manner, of course you wash before use. I have used this for over 40 years successfully.

ANY KIND OF OIL/LUBRICANT AND RUB WITH A CLOTH AFTER IT HAS SAT FOR A SHORT TIME. THEN WASH AS USUAL TO GET THE OIL OFF.

first use any stain remover to remove some of the paper then use boiled water mixed with lemon juice to soak the tag and use a good hand towel to remove it .
    it should work

I am all the time taking labels off glassware and books.
Goo Gone is the best and easiest.

I always use a damp cloth and rub the labels off slowly. It always works and the glass is never scratched. Enjoy your new things!

It’s really quite simple. Just use a drop of vegatable oil on the label and begin scraping the label with something ridge like, a credit card and wah lah the label and the sticky is gone.

Use Goo Gone. It takes adhesive off great. It doesn’t take much. I’m still using the original bottle of it I bought about 15 years ago.

Put a piece of scotch over the label, most of it should come off. If it doesn’t come off completely rub the remainder with alcohol.

Febreze works really well. I used it to take labels off of the new mirrors in my house.

If the glass items hold water try microwaving the glass full of water for about a minute. You should be able to peel the labels off without tearing them. Then use one of the other ideas to clean the sticky part off.
