What kind of info is on the back of my driver’s license?

I wrote a check at Target the other day. The cashier asked me for my driver’s license. When I gave it to him he flipped it over and scanned the black area (not a barcode but similar). What kind of info is stored in the code on the back of my driver’s license?

    Basically all the information that is printed on the front of your drivers license . . .

    Certain states also use this feature and it can be helpful to just scan your DL as you would a credit card and this can tell the birthdate if you are buying tobacco or alcohol products.

    Your mother’s name,your dog’s name,preschool etc….

    Usually the magnetic strip has the same info as what is printed on the front. But it depends on the state.
