Get PrimoPDF and print to a PDF file. It’s free.

CD and DVD labels need to be printed on special label paper which is then attached to the face of the disc. Unfortunately these things tend to start peeling off and can damage or destroy you drive. As an alternative you can get a burner that uses ‘lightscribe’ technology. Lightscribe discs are flipped over in the drive and the laser actually burns a label on the face of the disc. (Black only as of this writing). An excellent drive is made by BenQ (model DW-1655) and can be purchased for less than $50.00.

Printed labels with outlines to cut out the round label are available as is labeling software. Also you can label on special BriteLite labels if you have a DVD drive capable of burning them. I was disappointed in the dullness of them.
