What method is used to get that professionally polished CD surface?

I think it’s thermal transfer i doubt it’s ink unless some other sort of process of lacquering is applied.
My sister just had a wedding and i wanted to know how i can get that professionally done finish. The look you get when you buy a new CD; unmistakable shine and a quality coat.

I know for certain it’s not Ink so I’m not interested in buying a CD printing capable printer as they only utilize ink. Anyway, thanks.

The CD that comes out the press
has several very high tech coatings
that can only be reproduced in a lab.
On top of these is the screenprinted graphics
What youre seeing is the screenprinted inks and
    the surface of the lacquer.
CDs for homeprinting have a inkjet-ready coating
which is by very nature semi-dry and matte.

I would try clear can-lacquer on top of all that after youve
done your inkjet layer, with a bit of luck it wont eat the underlying layers.
Shake the can good for like 2 minutes
Place cd on horizontal flat surface
Spray even coat 10 inches from surface
    Dont over do it
