What sets the alarms off at clothing stores like Abercrombie, Hollister, etc.????

I hear of so many people that steal clothing from these stores and i am amazed that they can get away with it.

What sets off the alarms in the store: the clothing tag with barcode, the plastic sensor, or both?

If it’s just the clothing tag then it must be pretty easy to rip it off and steal the clothing.

Thanks for answering my question….I’m just curious about what sets the alarms off due to all of the theft in the stores….

a lot of people steal things without the sensor. i work in a clothing store, and our alarm goes off constantly because it’s so sensitive. but the stupid low lives that steal are the ones who take stuff without the sensor.

the sensor thing goes off for a lot of things … even cellphones set it off. the people who are stealing make sure they are free of anything that would draw attention to them when they leave the store.

some clothes in there have this big thing on it that has ink in it. and when you buy it the cashier takes it off. but when you hear about people stealing what they do is that some clothes dont have it on there. and they find those. they are usually at the bottom of the stack.

The plastic thingy sets of the alarm in most stores. Like in aeropostale, when the plastic thing gets too close to the door/entrance, the beeping sound goes off.
But, I don’t really know how people really steal clothes from taht store.
