What software can I use to keep track of inventory at a large warehouse?
What software can I use to keep track of inventory at a large warehouse?
I work for a clothing wholesaler and we are having problems keeping track of our inventory. The amounts we deal with are pretty large numbers. Is there some kind of software out there that will make this a lot easier? Currently using Excel and just manually inputting invoices. Im looking for something with maybe a barcode system. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

what you probably need is an integrated system that includes everything from issuing purchase orders, receiving goods, remembering storage locations, taking orders [including real time inventory checks], doing invoices, preparing pick lists, printing shipping documents, etc. as well as perpetual inventory and your periodic checking of that inventory. Most will also drive the accounting entries required as well.
this is well beyond the capabilities of consumer software and off the shelf stuff. Most large firms do this with help from a business software vendor and/or systems integrator. They’ll set you up with a database system and the various front ends [screens and interfaces] required to make that work.

if you have microsoft office (preferably 2007) there should be a template in excel or word called an “inventory sheet” to get to the templates click the windows sphere in the top right, then click new
and click “template” look in the list alphabetically for “inventory sheet
