What will happen if you go into a tanning bed while on antibiotics that say not to be in direct sunlight?

What will happen if you go into a tanning bed while on antibiotics that say not to be in direct sunlight?

I tan at least twice a week and I just started taking antibiotics for an infection yesterday. I was planning on tanning tonight just the same even though it says on the label not to be in the direct sun while taking the antibiotics. I’m already pretty tan so I don’t see how I could burn, but what other way can it affect you?

You should call your pharmacist and ask. I don’t think I would just go into a tanning bed while on meds that say to stay outta the sun – you may get really burned or have some sort of adverse reaction.

You’ll burn to a crisp and turn into a cancer cell.

You could get skin cancer. Your body is not able to defend itself from the UV as well when you are on antibiotics, and skin cancer is a possibility.

You are going to kill your skin by using a tanning bed that much, antibiotics or no antibiotics.

What are you? Addicted to tanning booths. Lay off of the leather factory for a week or two. Your gonna look like hell when you get older.

Do not get in the tanning bed. Tanning salons should have a list they provide that lets you be aware of what medications you should not tan while taking. Take it seriously. Besides, if you are already tan, missing some time is not only OK but safe too. Wait until you have completed the medication. Consult your tanning salon and ask for a list of medications.

Don’t tan. you will get ugly red blotches like a rash but worse, yes worse it can make you sick like the flu tummy ache and all. even if it’s not real sunlight it’ll do it anyway.

if it says no sunlight then that mean a tanning bed as well.

Some antibiotics make the skin sensitive to sunlight. So you can burn. It can also cause you to have a rash. IT really depends on the antibotic that you are taking. It can also change the metabolism of the medicine itself. That means it could change it’s “job code”. If that makes sense.

I would just avoid long periods of sun and the tanning bed until you finish your treatment (7-10 days usually)

you should not be in a tanning booth while taking the meds it can cause you to have a severe burn. Now for the rest of the story. you’re setting your self up for skin cancer and your skin is going to look like an old shoe that has been out in the weather for a couple years if you keep going to the tanning booth. You will be all wrinkled and dried up looking and i think you already know this too.
