what year did barcodes first get put on grocery items in oz?
i have an old australian biscuit tin. it has a barcode on the base of it. and a sticker saying: use by 31st march 1988?

Best answer:

Barcodes were first implemented in 1952. They were commercialized in 1966 and became widely used and accepted in the 1980′s. Unfortunately I cant tell you when they were commercialized in Australia. I hope this information still helps you!
