    There is a book called “The Bar Code Tattoo” by Suzanne Weyn. However, the cover is different from the one you described (a teenage girl). Sometimes different editions of the same book can have different covers.

    However, there are actually people who have gone out and had a barcode design tattooed on the back of their necks! It could be a book about tattoos.
