Whats the black strip on my Id card for?
I read there is a barcode underneath the black strip on the back of my cali, Id… but I’m not sure.. Also do california licenses or IDs have RFID chips in them? You know.. radio freq. Identification? Thank you for your time.

The black stripe is magnetic, but can hold much the same data an optical bar code could. A mag stripe can be field written though.
It seems California (senate) elected to not use RFIDs in their drivers licenses in 2007, so there may not be RFIDs in them at all.
