I am assuming you would like to scan documents from the library or public records without being charged the all the copies…. You should be able ot get something like that from a computer store/supplier. If you already have a good digital camera, you could take it with you and take photos of the pages you want. Just put it on the Macro setting and you’ll be able to get very close up to the pages.
Another tip… remember to turn off the time/date function of your camera so it doesn’t obscure the information on the documents.

I use my digital camera all the time for this purpose as the first response suggested. I originally tried using a small scanner but it was too slow, and inconvenient. Camera works much better.
