Where can I return this stupid bouncy seat!?
Where can I return this stupid bouncy seat!?
So, when my boyfriend and I made my baby registry, he registed for this Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler Grow with Me Rocker, that has vibrations for newborns, and converts into a rocking chair for toddlers.
He scanned it with the little gun.
It wasn’t the one I wanted, and I had talked him into registering for a different model.
I didn’t realize he had swiped it, so it was on my registry for a month before I deleted it.
My aunt had seen it on my registry and bought it, but by that time I had already deleted it off my registry.
I live with my parents, so I don’t need an extra seat for “grandma’s house”
Babies R Us return policy blows, and they won’t take it back since it wasn’t technically on my registry when it was purchased, and my aunt didn’t give me a gift receipt.
I saw that Walmart also carried it, but when I tried to return it, they scanned the barcode, and they said “Uh, this isn’t from our store” I told him that I saw they carried it online, and that I was PRETTY sure my aunt had bought it from there (I knew she got it from BRU) and he said the barcode was different, so it wasn’t theirs, and they can’t take it back.
I see that Buy Buy Baby also carries it, but it’s like, an hour from me, and I don’t want to drive all the way out there to have them tell me that they can’t take it back.
Do Fisher Price and other companies make seperate barcodes for ALL their retailers?
Do I have no chance at returning this thing?
I have no use for it, and no one on craigs list wants it, and I don’t want to donate it because it’s brand new and worth , and I’m really low on income.
makyrose- just because I live with my parents doesn’t mean I have everything handed to me.
I live under their roof. that’s it.
My child and I are uninsured and it costs me 0 just to take my son for a physical.
Please don’t make assumptions about my finances just because I’m fortunate enough to have a roof over my head
Babies R Us will not process returns without a receipt or gift receipt, unless the item was purchased off your registry.
If you bought the item, they can look up the purchase and credit your credit card.
So, if I returned it, my aunt’s credit card would be refunded.

Really? I’ve had nothing but EXCELLENT customer service from Babies R Us. I’ve taken many things back w/o a receipt and w/o being on a registry and they’ve given me store credit.

Is there any other way of selling things where you live? If not, no you can’t return it to anywhere but the place you bought it from. (Or that it was bought for you at) I would suggest giving it to a friend who’s having a baby. You probably don’t have much of a choice.

How about a consignment store?
You can’t take it back to Babies R Us and exchange it for the one that you wanted?

Yard sale.
I can not believe you tried to return something to walmart knowing that it was not brought there. That is wrong. That is like stealing from walmart.

Sometimes you are just out of luck with returning gifts. Why don’t you just give it to someone else as a gift? I mean after all it was a gift to you and not something you bought so it’s not like you spent your money on it you need back. And you do live with your parents and seems you and your baby’s needs are taken care of (no offense) And why not donate it? There are ppl out there who could probably really use it who don’t have one at all. Good things come back to ppl who help others out of a good deed like that. Or if you have to get money for it have you tried ebay?

Did you get the other one that you wanted? Surely the thing isn’t that bad. Why don’t you just exchange it at Babies R Us and not return it. There has to be other things that you need even if it is just diapers. Or, you can tell your aunt that you got a duplicate and you need the gift receipt to exchange it.

That is weird that Wal*Mart wouldn’t take it. I returned a box of diapers to them that was from Babies R Us (I didn’t know that at the time) and they took them. My brother told me that he bought them at Babies R Us for $30.00. I only got about $22.00 from Wal*Mart though.
Maybe try calling up fisher-price and tell them that you have a bouncy seat that is still all packaged up that someone got you for your baby shower. Tell them that they didn’t give you the receipt and that you got double of the item so you would like to return it. They may do something to help you out.
I called them about a rain forest fisher-price pack N’ play that always collapsed with the slightest touch. I told them that it was a gift and that I no longer have the packaging or the receipt. They had my cut off all the fabric and send it in. They refunded me the $100.00 that it cost. They even sent out the mailing label so that I didn’t have to pay for shipping. (They have you cut off and send in the fabric so that they know that you will not continue to use it after they send you the refund for it). Maybe you can pretend that something is wrong with it and tell them that it is not stable or study and that you think it is defected. They might work something out with you this way.
Here is the number for Fisher-Price
1-800-382-7470

This doesn’t answer your question…but I’m just trying to make sure you’re aware of all your options insurance-wise. I have health insurance through my father still, because I’m a full time college student (even one semester off to take care of baby and I lose all coverage…what crap, now i have to go back to school on Monday). Anyway, my dad’s insurance does not cover my son. We got it all set up before he was born, though, for him to be covered by Medicaid. Since I have to go to school full-time to keep my insurance, i had to quit my job in order to take care of the baby. Baby’s daddy’s income is not enough to support the three of us, so our son has full medical coverage through the state. I know people on here gripe about “don’t have a baby if you can’t afford it and are going to waste tax payers money and whatnot” but honestly, I’ve worked (and paid taxes) for six years…now i’m in a bind and will not hesitate to use programs available to me.
My son was in the NICU for 12 days. The average cost of a one-day stay in the NICU is roughly $1,250. That’s $15,000 that I suppose I’d have to pay out of pocket if Noah was uninsured…$15,000 that I definitely don’t have. Please look into insurance for you and your son. Even if you aren’t eligible for medicaid yourself, your son may be. You never know what big expenses could come up…$100 is nothing once you start looking at the big picture. If they won’t cover your son, please buy some cheap insurance at least in case of an emergency (like a 12 day hospital stay).
