where does plain label food come from?

I just wanted to know who makes all the plain label foods that you can buy in the stores next to the name brand stuff.

Normally “plain-label” foods are not intended for retail…usually these are for institutions, restaurants and likewise but, if you’ve seen plain-label products at regular super markets then, these are probably the store’s own line of products mixed in there alongside known brands.

It depends on what the product is and what grocery store it is. Many non-brand name food is made in the same factories that are making the brand name food, just with a different label. For example, I used to work in an ice cream factory that made 3 different brands of ice cream (one of them being a store brand).
Some grocery stores have their own factories that make their own products. For example Kroger/Smiths has many factories over the United States that makes Kroger brand products.
