Which type of system would use bar code input?
A. Invoicing
B. Supermarket
I don’t think a supermarket is a ‘system’, and when they’re scanning goods what they’re doing is invoicing basically? What would you answer? It’s an ECDL question.
Best answer:
Well..invoicing basically means to send someone a bill for services or goods rendered. So I guess you could say a supermarket is ultimately invoicing the person with the goods. The barcode scanner is just a small part of that entire system. I think the supermarket is really a big system. Goods come in and get scanned and loaded into inventory. Those goods are then moved to the store and put on shelves and displays. The customer then puts the goods in their basket and takes them to the front end checkout. The items are scanned and removed from the store inventory database.
So I think ultimately the customer is being invoiced, but I also think the supermarket could be considered a system.
