Who Assigns Barcodes ?
Does anyone know who assigns the barcode on each product we buy at the supermarket…? Is there a government body that handles this…?

The assignment of numbers for the UPC barcode used at the supermarket is done by the Uniform Code Council, Dayton (UCC).
