Why would the hospital put a barcode on my cast?
on the bottom of my foot, specifically. My friend saw it. It loos like it’s was put there intentionally. It’s a fiberglass cast, btw, not one of those boot things

Maybe it was part of the company who made it or maybe the hospital may have put it there for some sort of organizational method. This could tell them how long it took you to recover and so that someone doesn’t accidentally take it off.

Ask them. Maybe it’s to make sure that, when they X-Ray your foot, they code the X-Ray with the same barcode, so they can tell that it’s an X-Ray of your foot from this injury. (It would be a CYA thing – you can’t later claim that they did something wrong because they thought it was someone else’s foot. It’s like why you have to wear a bracelet if you’re an admitted patient.)

Actually replying to Paul. When submitting a question Y/A often make some really ridiculous category suggestions. Perhaps some people don’t know how to bring up the full category list so the asker can choose the most appropriate one.
In the context of what I have just said – Programming and Design for this question seems about right
