i know how bar codes work with different amount of g lines with different thickness and shapes in some cases so in theory will we eventually run out

That’s a bit like saying we only have a limited number of letters in the alphabet, will we ever be incapable of inventing new words? A bar code can, in principle be as long as the applications demands, so the literal answer is indeed no.
However, barcode scanners (the gun like ones, anyway – the pen like ones are different) can’t necessarily read unlimited length barcodes because of their size.
More pertinent though is specific encodings for barcodes, and in particular those used on consumer products. Those have a specific length and format, so in principle, yes, these could run out. But they are pretty big numbers. But then no one thought we’d ever come close to running out of IP addresses either.

There are only so many “bobs” “richards” “Georges” etc to go around right????

Bar codes are a company to company thing. tons of items have the same upc codes, but, they don’t all belong to the same companies.
