Windows Xp or Windows Vista?

Windows Xp or Windows Vista?
I’m looking to buy a new computer and I need to see with which operating system I should get it. Currently I have XP and I like it. It works great for me, although I think Vista looks nicer. My question is how long is XP gonna live before they stop making hardware products for them. For example support for printers, Scanners, Wireless USB adapters, etc. And also about Business Software that companies use?
How many more years does XP have before it becomes dry from the new hardware and programs. Thanks!
I can find computer with XP

Best answer:

You couldn’t find a new computer with XP on it anyway. Problem solved!

Getting Vista for its looks is good because in terms of everything else its pretty much the same, but get Home Premium and the recommended specs for Premium

As for XP things will always be backwards compatible so it will always work for XP

XP should remain compatible for a long while, so you would be fine in getting it. Just look at how many businesses still use Windows 2000 (lots). Most business software will be compatible with any windows NT os (xp, vista, 2000), so that shouldn’t be a problem either. I personally would recommend Vista because of the newer features in it (DX 10, vector based desktop, etc.), but it all basically boils down to your preference for user interface, useability, etc.

    Hope this helps!

You are going to have to get one with Vista. Manufacturers can’t sell one with XP anymore. You probably can’t go out and buy it anymore either since they stopped producing it. Vista is fine. There are a lot more drivers out there now then when it first came out. Software should be about the same but it can all depend on the company.
