How long should I keep a box?

How long should I keep a box?
Should I keep the boxes from products purchased, or can I maybe cut out the barcode or take a note of the details and dispose of the box?

Best answer:

A year is usually good on most appliance boxes. And really all you need is the UPC and such. Warranties and such should be kept until they run out.

Which cell phone should I buy from Verizon?

Which cell phone should I buy from Verizon?
I either want the BlackBerry Storm or the Droid. I know the Storm can view youtube videos, but can the droid? Also, the droid has an app where you can take a picture of a barcode on a product and find it cheaper in the area you live in. Can the storm do the same? Is that app available on the storm?

Best answer:

the storm doesn’t have that app. and i’m pretty sure that the droid can.

How much is this coin worth?

How much is this coin worth?
I don’t know much about coins and I’ll do my best to describe it to you.

It’s a 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar. It’s cased and it says PCGS on the very top and below it it says MS64.

Then below that there is a number which is 7166.64/4408753

Right below that number is the barcode. Is 7166 the value or something?
The coin has some markings. The color still looks pretty good.

Best answer:

i collect coins and i know that they sell a book that they sell a book that tels u value and it is sold at borders. but it all depends on the face of the dollar like if it is in mint condition or if it is very tarnished.try looking through these book reviews beta.bordersstores.com/online/store/SearchResults?keyword=coin+value&type=1&simple=1 . i was looking at the website that the rmlowrie typed in and here are what some r bidding 4 coins.ha.com/common/search_results.php?N=51+790+231+&Ntk=My_ItemTitle&Ntt=MS64

This is a stupid question about paying bills?

This is a stupid question about paying bills?
You know when you get a bill and they give you an envelope to use when returning your payment, does it matter if you do not use the envelope? My car insurance is due in a couple days and I can’t find the envelope they provided to me. Will it be okay if I just use a regular envelope or is there a special barcode on it that gets it to the right department easier (I don’t want this to be late). Thanks for any help!

Best answer:

The barcode on the bill envelope does help, but you can use another envelope. Just be sure you send it to the address that receives payments. If you are not sure, you can usually call and get automated address information.

Do American coins always flip up and down to view the obverse and reverse in the correct direction?

Do American coins always flip up and down to view the obverse and reverse in the correct direction?
I just bought a rare 1877 indian head penny that when you flip it it’s off center slightly. Should that be a reason for concern? Maybe such a thing is common during these early years of national coin mintage. It’s professionally graded “Proof” PF 63 then RB. On the reverse it says authenticated ANACS along with a barcode and serial number

Best answer:

U.S coins are in what is called coin rotation. That is you flip bottom to top to see the other side face up. Canadian coins are medal rotation you turn the left to right and the reverse is fase up. It is also not uncommon for Indian cents or any other coin from the 1870′s to have a slightly rotated reverse. The dies were held in by set screws that got lose from time to time. I am some what surprised you would pay ,500 to ,000 give or take depending on eye appeal, for a coin you know nothing about. You do own one of the 900 proof 1877 cents minted that year.

How can I mail a BLACK postcard?

How can I mail a BLACK postcard?
Black on both front and back. Can I buy postage separate or something? I know USPS needs a light color for a barcode and I think something stamped over the postage stamp, but is there a way around that?

Thanks!

Best answer:

nope, and it is going to look terrible. Stick with a light color for the address/postage side.

Need suggestion for open source POS that supports a barcode reader?

Need suggestion for open source POS that supports a barcode reader?
As stated in the question, I need a GPL’ish point of sale app that will work with a barcode reader. A barcode reader suggestion(hardware) would be nice as well.

It needs to be deployed for a mom and pop beer store….(hippie town) lots of odd beers coming and going.

Linux and php related matters only. No winpoop.
Open Source applications will one day rule the world.

thanks for reading my question

Best answer:

I doubt you’ll find a free one that will meet your needs.
Best to probably code it yourself. MS RULES!

What is standard (or SOP) of barcode labeling for cord blood bank?

What is standard (or SOP) of barcode labeling for cord blood bank?

Best answer:

I found this in their “Processing & Banking” FAQs page. It’s not their SOP, which is probably proprietary information, but it does tell you how they process the blood.

Your sample ID is ensured through a triple identification system:

1.The first is a unique identifier and barcode. When you enroll with Cord Blood Registry, your baby’s collection kit is assigned a unique identifier (barcode), and this same identifier always remains with your baby’s cord blood kit, paperwork, and sample. Each sample is encased in an outer protective layer to ensure the barcode never detaches from the sample.

2.The second identifier is a client I.D. label which is permanently attached to each vial.

3.Third is the storage location of your baby’s unique sample. This information is stored in our computer system, which is backed up daily, via optical disk and a hardcopy system.
