How to create barcoding system on government computer?
I would like to create a barcoding system on a government computer to track soldier medical records. The problem is, I cannot download all those silly barcode fonts out there. I have a barcode scanner, and Microsoft Office 2007 applications to include Excel, Access, Word.
How do I generate a barcode system for SSNs?
How do I create a barcode library, such as scanning information on a medical record for check in and check out? Do I really need a software here, or can any of the MS Office applications be used?

Dynamics GP and Barcoding Technology Notes
Microsoft Dynamics GP or how it was known in earlier 2000th and 1990th Great Plains Dynamics and eEnterprise is mid-market Corporate ERP platform. Great Plains is mostly Financial, ERP, MRP and HR software, while such applications as Microsoft RMS, Counterpoint should be dealing with Barcoding hardware (such as Barcode scanners, Barcode servers, etc.). If you are looking for Add-ons to Dynamics GP, opening specific GP screens to barcoding, you may need to check with Dynamics GP ISV Partners community. If you need Warehouse Management operations to be integrated with GP, most of the WMS software publishers handle Barcoding. Let’s review the options and look at some examples:
1. Direct Barcode Scanner work with Dynamics GP user workstation. This is only possible if you need only limited number of low volume barcode scanning and transactions upload to Dynamics GP. In this scenario Barcode scanner is also very basic (in to 0 price range for new unit: Datalogic, Adesso, HP, Metrologic, Wasp, Unitech to give you few brands) . You install Dynamics GP workstation on Notebook or another tiny Windows computer and provide wireless internet for your warehouse floor. You attach scanner to the USB port and it becomes the same devise as your computer keyboard, but way more efficient due to barcoding technology. One of your Dynamics GP users walks down to the warehouse, comes through its aisles and scans items, having relevant Great Plains windows open and prior to scanning she or he should place cursor into the field, where Barcode scanning should enter characters. We expect to hear comments from the readers, that such process requires Dynamics GP user interface training and it probably requires computer mouse to be attached and this process is time consuming – we agree with you – you got what you paid for. Microsoft RMS has out-of-the-box integration of daily sales to Great Plains General Ledger plus Purchases. Counterpoint has native integration of similar scope, where daily sales go to GP GL and Store replenishment or purchases to GP Vendor Invoices in AP module. If you pick POS application – barcoding is pretty much covered in most if not in all Retail packages (plus such cool features as POS displays). We also offer the integration between Dynamics GP and Microsoft RMS, where POS transactions are sent to SOP Invoice and customer payment is triggered as Customer deposit against SOP transaction (Credit Card, Check, Debit Card or Cash Payment, selling on account is also supported as in Clubs and Memberships). could DNA barcoding prove once & for all the human race has/is several sub-species after all?
I mean even a casual glance at an Asian,Caucasoid and a black person,it’s obvious that on a continental level scale,there is general variation between the races,right!? Some races are shorter/taller,some have more fat storing cells(Native Americans come to mind),some have greater average intelligence,like Koreans;etc

Barcoding small company inventory….?
My dad owns a small internet company. We have a stock room and lately have decided that we need some kind inventory system w/ barcodes. I am completely stuck because I do not know where we should start. I am looking at the most cost effective option here . If you have any ideas please feel free to jump in. Thanks

Information on the DNA barcoding process!?
I need to identify a bird and all i have are a couple of feathers. i thought DNA bar-coding would be the most helpful identification method, if you think otherwise, please let me know and tell me what would be a better way to do it. I need to know how the test is preformed and what and how chemicals/tools are used to perform it.

Questions about barcoding and barcode scanners?
I have stepped up to the position of managing my high school’s store… which is a complete mess. We had taken no inventory until I took one a couple days ago, no marketing, and no system of cash flow whatsoever. I want to create a system of barcoding where we have a barcode assigned to each product on a sheet of paper. When that product is going to be purchased, I want to be able to scan the barcode into the computer and have it show the price and take it out of our inventory, or at least make a list of what was scanned that day. Does anybody know if this is possible? I want to get a barcode scanner and barcodes for under 100$. Any information/ websites would be helpful… I have googled this but I am getting lost in all of the information! Thanks!

what you need is POS software (point of sale ) there are some free ones out there but not sure of the reliability of them . and also complete linux os’s for it (operating systems) that you would install on a pc. it will remove what ever os was on it and install to that pc.as for the barcode lables ,those can be printed with the pos software or OS . equipment you can find just about anything on Ebay or Craigs list,

What are the current animal barcoding methods?

How do you think these methods could be applied to plant barcoding, in the future?

As far as I know there is only one type of barcoding for animals. It is done by inserting a tiny coded chip under the skin of the animal between its shoulder blades. There have been various tagging, tatooing and clipping methods used over the centuries. I think it would be easier to do in plants by inserting a code in the DNA which would give information for identifying the plant.
