Driving thru Maryland today, we noticed many cars with a barcode on the left passenger window. What is it?
We saw this on a trip today. It was just a barcode on the window of the passenger. We thought it might be an EZ pass thing, but it was on cars from Maryland, Virginia, New York, etc. We could not figure it out but we saw so many cars with it. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks
Best answer:
its if you live in a gated community or a place where you have to pay toll ( like an island) then you can pay in advance and get like a yearly pass then they scan it when you drive by.

Should cars have built-in governors that ‘read’ speed signs and adjust accordingly?
And by built-in governors, I mean a system that has a barcode on speed signs and a laser scanner in the headlights that automatically adjusts the governor to the speed limit. People would be unable to speed, and thusly unable to cause as many speed-related wrecks. Would the roads be safer with this system in place? Is it worth a test?

What are the large barcode stickers on windows on cars in Florida?
I see them all the time, they are pretty large in size, and so far I have only seen them on cars in Florida. I think they are generally on the back passenger side window. What are they???
Best answer:
Their just a way for the dealership to keep track of them before you buy them,

why do cars from maryland have bar codes on there windows?
Best answer:
Most, if not all cars have bar coded VIN plates now. The scanner can directly read it and it eliminates any problems trying to write it down and enter it into the scanner correctly.
Various parts are also bar coded with the VIN to show if a vehicle has been rebuilt.

What does the red and white bar code design mean on the Ferrari F1 cars?
Best answer:
If you hit it with a barcode scanner you’ll get a price on your Marlboros in countries where tobacco advertising is forbidden.

What system is now used for keeping up with railroad cars? I don’t see “bar codes” on the cars anymore.
Best answer:
Railroad cars, and locomotives, in North America have attached to their frames what are called AEI (Automatic Equipment Identification) tags, which are basically radio-frequency ID tags embedded in epoxy. At regular spacing along the tracks, there are AEI scanners which tie into the railroads’ computer systems and provide an active update of the cars’ location.

Do Cop Cars have laser/radar scanners?
Do Cops have Laser/Radar readers mounted in their cars?
We’ve all seen the awesome (not awesome- just a way to extract funds from your account because tax dollars are spent 66.6% on bullsh!t, so the excess funds are bleed out of citizens)guy with his Laser scanner just perched out fishing for your a$$.
I’m just wondering if there is laser/radar scanner built into a cruiser….and I don’t mean one simply flipped on while they sit and look. I mean like one turned on scanning for speeders as they (the cops) are out driving around.
If so, can they pick up on oncoming traffic?…like you are both driving in opposite directions as you pass.
If anybody (cops, electric-frequency-science-majors), knows how far they can reach: Radius , the accuracy, consistency of being turned on, fitted to a unit, accuracy………….this would be awesome.
btw, I don’t hate cops, I have some in the fam….. It’s their jobs, they have a purpose to enforce and keep people protected. I simply hate some dictated laws that are masked behind “safety” when they are in fact driven by profit.
Best answer:
Yes they can get you while they are moving, from both the front & rear.

Why do some cars have black and white bar codes on the windows?
Best answer:
So you can “beep” them at the register when you buy them?
(Sorry, I just had to!)
Goodluck!

What are the white bar code stickers I see on rear passenger windows of cars?
I see them on all makes and models of cars around town and I have no clue what they are for as they have no label or identifying information on them!
These are all makes and models of cars that I see driving around the bay area (Northern CA). It’s not like they all come from the same dealer or work in the same place or even live in the same community…
Best answer:
Every thing has a tracking number, the bar code are the same. UPC Codes.

Have’nt seen any lately, but what were those barcodes on the windows of cars in Florida for?
I remember those on a car that parked at my apartment every night. Was it an old rental? I asked this question a year ago because I was wondering why they were on so few cars with these. Most answers said that they were for police to scan the cars but I have’nt heard of this at the DMV.
It was a big sticker on the windows that I saw in a number of cars two years ago but none latelly. Oh, ya in Florida.
Best answer:
I have seen those too.. I thought they were on rental cars. A type of easy inventory for the renatl agency.
