What is the best/most common free/low cost inventory management app? From parts to finished products as well..?
I have a small biz and we build electronic devices and soon enough we have about 500 different items with 10,000pcs or more of each and they go into products and inventory is a nightmare!!! How can I make life easier with everything on a single database and the software will know to “convert” items to finished products when i enter they are ready? Thanks!!!

Where can I find ingredient labels of common energy drinks such as Red Bull and Monster?
I am doing a project for work and i need pictures of the ingredient labels on the back of red bull, monster, and rockstar energy drinks. The source must be from the internet and if its possible I’d appreciate direct links…..first one to link 3 of 3 gets best answer!

Enter the all digits printed on the UPC bar code, including any numbers to the right or left of the bar code itself, even if they don’t line up with the main row of numbers. This should be 13 digits for an EAN/UCC-13, 12 digits for a Type A UPC code, or 8 digits for a Type-E (zero-supressed) UPC code. Anything other than 8 or 12 digits is not a UPC code! (And just because it’s 8 or 12 digits doesn’t mean it is a UPC.)
The results should match the product you have

Are there common Merchandising computer systems?
I am doing a research project for my College Marketing Class and need a little better understanding of the large Retail Store Merchandising or Inventory computer systems. I see inventory clerks all the time walking around with those large “scanners” where they scan merchandise all day for inventory. Is there a particular manufacture of those scanners that has the market cornered? When I’ve seen them, they all seem to be made by the same company. What system does that scanner talk to when it gets put back in it’s “docking station”? Does it have a seriel connection, USB? What? Does that scanner basically report back to a large database program? If so, does anyone know if there is a common program out there that has the market cornered for the large retailers such as Supermarkets, Home Improvement Store and large discount retailers? I realize these are pretty detailed questions, but any help would be sooo much appreciated!!

I Do not know the name of the software program.
I do know that one major device company used around here (Alabama) is Symbol Brand Devices. They use a wireless connection in the store which sends data to a server that sends information via satellite to the Home Office and or Distribution Center. All of the Point of sale terminals include data in this report, especially to the DC. When you sell 5 shirts you need 5 more. A bit more complex, but thats the Idea.

Can common laser light, such as that produced by supermarket scanners or optical mouses, harm the eyes?

No, the laser light used in devices like grocery scanners and printer/scanners, copy machines, ect… are a very weak low frequency and pose no danger to the eyes.
Wouldn’t be a hassle to have to wear special protection to get your box of cereal scanned ?…lol

handheld scanners: common item or tool of criminals?

Not at all, I used to own one. I purchased it from radioshack. I bought it so that I could listen to police/emergency frequencies in case of an emergency, but the reception was terrible, so I sold it. Criminals do use scanners unfortunately, but I think there should be a licensing requirement.
