How to Print From a Microsoft Office Document Imaging?
I have just scanned a book with “Microsoft scanner and camera wizard”when i saved my scanned book,it automatically opened it in” Microsoft Office Document Imaging”and i can not get a print from this type, however there is a print option there, even my printer counts the page numbers but it gives the failure message after this.
i couldn’t open it with other applications which i knew such as word or,…
I even tried to copy both all pages and single page but i got the same error.
what should i do?
I just know that my printer works fine,i couldnt find anything related to this problem in my printer’s options and properties.
So how can one get a print from such type of file?
(i.e Microsoft Office Document Imaging)

My printer is a hp laser jet 1200 series.

Best answer:

Open the document as normal, goto FILE, select SAVE AS. The SAVE AS dialog box will appear. Right at the bottem change SAVE AS TYPE to TAGGED IMAGE FILE FORMAT (TIFF). click the options button and click the COMPRESSION tab, if it isn’t already on that tab. Mark the checkbox PERFORM LOSSLESS COMPRESSION… OK and then SAVE.

Goto where ever you save the tiff document, right click on it and SELECT OPEN WITH > WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER.

Whenit opens you can press the printer icon, Click NEXT, check Combo boxes of the pages you want to print, and the NEXT. Select your printer. change PRINTING PREFERENCES if you want(make sure the page size is set to A4). Click NEXT. Select full page fax or photo print and then click NEXT.

See if that helps. If it doesn’t then post a comment, with an error message if it appears. I used my Canon to print a document using the instruction I gave you above, and it worked fine.

Can you recommend a scanner that will scan multiple pages at a time and put in one pdf document?

Can you recommend a scanner that will scan multiple pages at a time and put in one pdf document?
I’m trying to find an all-in-one wireless printer…. I’ve read all sorts of specs on each one, but none of them say if they scan multiple pages at once. Is this standard now? Do they nearly all do this?

Best answer:

for combining multiple scanned files to 1 PDF , u can try Foxonic, a powerful PDF tool.

2 steps to convert scanned document to PDF with Foxonic:

(1) click “settings” -> Set building mode to “All to One” and set destination PDF file name, location.

(2) Select all the scanned files and right click the selected source files, a menu will popup, click “Build selected files to PDF”, then all the selected files will be converted to destination PDF file automatically.

u can download and try it for free:

where can i buy a handheld document scanner for genealogy purposes?

where can i buy a handheld document scanner for genealogy purposes?

Best answer:

I am assuming you would like to scan documents from the library or public records without being charged the all the copies…. You should be able ot get something like that from a computer store/supplier. If you already have a good digital camera, you could take it with you and take photos of the pages you want. Just put it on the Macro setting and you’ll be able to get very close up to the pages.

Another tip… remember to turn off the time/date function of your camera so it doesn’t obscure the information on the documents.

How do you insert an address zipcode barcode in a Microsoft Works Word document? ?

How do you insert an address zipcode barcode in a Microsoft Works Word document? ?
I could do this in Word Perfect but I don’t see how to do it in Microsoft Works Word. Does the software support zip code bar codes? Thank you.

Best answer:

I’m guessing you didn’t check Word’s Help facility…

Field codes: BarCode field
Show All
Hide All
{ BARCODE \u “LiteralText” or Bookmark \b [Switches ] }

Inserts a postal bar code, which is a machine-readable form of address used by the U.S. Postal Service. The BARCODE field (field: A set of codes that instructs Microsoft Word to insert text, graphics, page numbers, and other material into a document automatically. For example, the DATE field inserts the current date.) can insert either a POSTNET delivery-point bar code or a Facing Identification Mark, or FIM.

It’s easiest to insert postal bar codes with the Envelopes and Labels command (Tools menu, Letters and Mailings submenu).

Instructions

“LiteralText” or Bookmark
Delivery address and ZIP Code. When followed by the \b switch, a bookmark (bookmark: A location or selection of text in a file that you name for reference purposes. Bookmarks identify a location within your file that you can later refer or link to.) can replace LiteralText. For example, the bookmark “ENV_ZIPCODE1″ represents the address in the active document (active document: The document in which you’re working. Text you type or graphics you insert in Microsoft Word appear in the active document. The title bar of the active document is highlighted.); it’s inserted by the Envelopes and Labels command (Tools menu, Letters and Mailings submenu). LiteralText can also be the result of a nested field.

Why can't you use a document scanner to scan checks for ACH deposit? Why a special "check scanner"?

Why can’t you use a document scanner to scan checks for ACH deposit? Why a special “check scanner”?
I have a great Fujitsu document scanner and don’t quite see why a need another piece of equipment to scan checks for deposit. I understand “check scanners” parse the symbols on the bottom of the check for transaction info, but why not just make some MICR software to convert the image post-scanning? If OCR software can convert hundreds of pages of documents to editable text, what is so difficult about recognizing a few symbols on a check for processing?

Is there some simple software available that can allow me to use my document scanner to deposit checks by extracting those symbols and converting them to a format suitable for processing?
I like the thought about the check scanner reading the magnetic “ink” not the image. But are all checks really printed with special ink? I just came across a website saying you could print payroll checks with any laser printer. How then could such a check scanner work?

(Yahoo Answers rocks. Can’t believe I have people answering my questions so fast. Pretty cool.)

Best answer:

They probably don’t market such devices to the general public, just to financial institutions. But don’t worry, with all the banks on the brink of bankruptcy, you might be able to pick up some inexpensive used MICR reading equipment!
