What are the top coolest apps for the Droid?
I know about the barcode thing, and the navigator, but what are some of the coolest things you can get for the Droid, that you cannot necessarily get for other phones?
Best answer:
Google Sky Map is amazing if you’re into stargazing and even if you’re not it’s still really interesting. For useful there is one call Bubble which turns your phone into a level. MotoTorch LED uses the LED flash of your camera as a flashlight, strobe light and can even convert text into morse code.
Some apps that really set the Droid apart are all the apps that customize your phone by giving it themes and new keyboards, backgrounds. You can even get Dolphin Browser if you don’t like the standard browser. Dolphin browser now even includes the multi-touch zooming (pinching motion to zoom in and out)

Does the LG Ally by Verizon have the ability to scan bar codes like the droid does?
I know you can download the app but does it have the actual scanner/capability/ability to use the app?
Best answer:
Yes, I’ve got a barcode scanner app on my Ally and it works great.

i just got a droid today and i downloaded a few barcode scanners…?
like the standard barcode scanner and kling for books, and i cannot figure out how to work it. i press the app, line of the barcode in the rectangle, but nothing happens! is there something else i have to press? because they werent specific at all in the instructions. please help!
but is it just supposed to automatically scan it? i dont have to press anything?
Best answer:
It wont work with every single barcode- it has to be a nationally sold and recognized product. So you could probably scan a bottle of Heinz ketchup at the grocery store, but if you scanned a shirt at the mall, it wouldnt come up..
