Thanks.

Best answer:

go to a radio specialty store, and first go thru their guide on publicly used frequencies. Then, armed with this information, look for a scanner that has that frequency range that you are requiring.

Hope this helps. Best of luck in your search.

1998 jeep cheokee no fire or fuel, but cranks over?
ok heres the deal started two weeks ago motor cranks over no fuel, or fire, also fuel gauge don’t work, tried scanner and it said on comutation, then unpluged crankshaft pos. sensor, and fuel gauge worked plus heard the fuel pump relayl click, plus other clicking of realys, so pluged back in and everthing went dead again,,is there a way to use ohm meter to check crank sensor removed from the motor,,,heard they can cause lots of trouble????
thanks sprinkles, just bought one from o’rilieys, too hot here today but going to put it on in the morning, what and wheres the pcm,,sounds like a pricey item,,,,,,,,jim

Best answer:

many times on a jtec pcm if the crank sensor shorts, it will kill the pcm. replace the crank sensor. by the way, i have replaced many brand new aftermarket sensors that did not work and the jeep was still towed in. under no circumstances would i buy an aftermarket sensor.
