Where might I find a website that will allow me to look up barcodes for particular products?
I have a list of a lot of products that I need to find the barcodes for. Does anyone know of a website that will let me search for a product with keywords and give an accurate barcode for that product?

Why don’t cosmetic companies put shampoo and conditioners in bottles that look different?
Once again I have tried to wash my hair with hair conditioner. The problem is that I wear glasses and can’t see a thing without them. Also, the bottles look so much alike, I have to read the entire label to tell what I have picked up. Can’t someone get it through the heads of the companies that not everyone can see small print and I don’t know of anyone who washes their hair while wearing their glasses.

What do you think of this look for invitations? Using many small stamps.?
I was looking at stamps for my wedding invitations. I do not like those custom ones you can get online, the barcode part bothers me and they are expensive. I not in love with the wedding stamps usps sells although that might be what I end up using. I saw this http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/portal/site/ww/menuitem.460039687ea4fc3df8aeef105173a0a0/?vgnextoid=f389cdd7d7a91110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default and though the one on the bottom right was cool. Those are all current stamps in just really low denominations. My wedding has a slightly vintage theme to it, not to much just matches the venue, and I though that could work. But I wanted some opinions. If you got that in the mail would you think wow that is neat or wonder if I did not understand how postage works?
One think I really like about it is that it would not cost any extra then regular postage, maybe a couple dollars total but nothing major.

I’m looking for a a progran that look up information on vinyl records via the UPC barcode on the jacket.?
My mother-in-law has 1000′s of old records that my late father-in-law collected over his life. We want to catalog them but going though each box record by record was too much and we ran out of time before they had to move. Now I want to try again but I want an easier solution. This way we can give potential buyers of the WHOLE collection an easier idea of what is in the collection or even the whole list.

Best answer:
I don’t think you can. The UPC code is just a unique number that assigned to a product. The barcode really doesn’t have any information about the product contained in it. It won’t tell you what the record is or what songs are on it. It The UPC code is entered into a computer and then the information, brand, price, product, etc, in entered into the computer and associated with the UPC. Using the barcode to keep track of the record collection is a good idea but you still need to manually enter the information.

Make a program in Visual Basic to look up item in database by typing UPC barcode?
I have a CSV (comma separated value) file with UPC Barcodes in it. I want to know how to make a visual basic program that will show the name of the item when the barcode is entered. 10 points for a step by step instruction guide or working link.
:)
just a small visual basic program for an experiment. not for commercial use so no-one recieves anything (like profits etc)
Best answer:
{ Geeze. When is this project due Vern? Is it gonna need a reset loop for any barcode entered? How would you like the GUI to look? Would you like it to be compatible with NCR software? Can I have all rights when the program is complete? Lastly but most important: How much will the job pay? }
( end lost )

What to Look For in a Laser Barcode Scanne
Even though features in a laser barcode scanner are subtle, they are designed to increase work efficiency and minimise any errors during operation. Of course, these features are proportional to cost, so just as your purchase needs need to reflect your budget, the reverse is true in order to experience increases productivity as a direct result of the technology employed. In other words, your budget needs to consider the needs of your business.
So what is available in terms of features with this kind of high performance handheld barcode scanner?
For a start, ‘motion tolerance’ is becoming fairly standard amongst laser barcode readers. Motion tolerance basically means that you can scan a number of barcodes without having to release the trigger that initiates the barcode scan. This allows you to scan items that are in close proximity quickly with minimal user intervention. From a retail Point of Sale (POS) perspective, you will decrease queue time which will subsequently result in a better customer relationship.
Another, often overlooked aspect of a laser barcode scanner is the scanner’s resistance to physical abuse. Of course, no barcode scanner is going to withstand half a ton of fork lift truck (and I don’t suggest you test that out either!), but your laser barcode scanner must withstand everyday use, including drops. Many barcode manufacturers are implementing single circuit board designs which minimise any dislodging during a drop and reduce any points of failure that arise with other barcode scanners, such as the ribbon cables which connect circuit boards together.
Finally, consider barcode scanners that can scan damaged barcodes. Since laser barcode scanners scan in a linear fashion (from one end to another), they ignore a broken barcode and resumes interpreting the information as soon as the barcode becomes readable again. With long numbers, this can save enormous amounts of time manually keying in barcodes.
There is no doubt that all of the above features in a laser barcode scanner are certainly indications of a high quality product but when bought in considerable numbers, it becomes quite an investment no matter how they might improve your asset management system. Find a balance between cost effectiveness and how these products can ultimately make (or save) money.
These are just a few things to think about when looking to buy a laser barcode scanner . Check out href=”handheldbarcodescannerguide.com/” target=”_new”>Handheld Barcode Scanner Guide for more information about these barcode scanners and more!
