I need to print out something with a barcode on it to get scanned but I only have yellow paper?

It’s a ticket for something where you just print them off yourself. I take it the colour of the paper won’t make any difference and it’ll still scan alright?

Can a file be copied with a camera via something like a QR Barcode?

Can a file be copied with a camera via something like a QR Barcode?

I know all different types of barcodes can say a lot of different things with the right software to read them, but can barcodes “be” files with the right software? Is there any software that can make an actual file?
For example instead of scanning a QR code for a URL to an app to download, it basically reads a visual code and compiles it into the app.
If not, is any one working on a way to do something like this at all?

how do you find out how much something costs by the barcode #?

how do you find out how much something costs by the barcode #?
well i was in school and my friend told me, and i absolutely forgot! i was wondering if anybody out there knows?! thanks =)

Best answer:

You can’t. The bar code is simply a number that identifies the product. Each store takes that numbmer and assigns a description and price. Every can of Del Monte Cream Corn has the exact same barcode, but the price is different at each store.

Can I return something without a barcode?

Can I return something without a barcode?
I bought a Nintendo DS Lite from Best Buy and I got a 2-year warranty. This warranty is almost expiring in May and I need to return it soon. When I asked some of my friends if I should exchange it, they told me that it would be impossible since I do not have the barcode on the back of my DS. Now I think that I’ll never be able to return it, but others have told me that it is possible since I have the original receipt, the box it came with with the barcode still on it, and even have the product replacement plan that has the warranty on it. So will it or will it not be possible to return it and upgrade it for the DSi that I want to get.
I live in California.

Best answer:

they wont let you return it uless you have a barcode.

If I bought something from one store, can I return it to a different one?

If I bought something from one store, can I return it to a different one?
I received a Wii for easter and I don’t want it anymore and they bought it at circuit city but there is not a circuit city around here, could I return it to another store like walmrt or target without the receipt and get a gift card or something? Or will the barcode show it was not from their store?

Best answer:

They will never know but it is not honest. It is possible that they may have a record of serial numbers but the return desk would not check that. I have always wondered if they could come back a week later and ask for the money back.

and this one girl just picked up this thing of mascara and slipped it in her sleeve. without taking off the barcode. then she left & the alarm didn’t go off.
and at other stores I have seen people steak things with the barcode still on and the alarm DID go off.
so what makes the alarm sound?
is it a matter of removing the barcode or not?
I’m not planning to steal for gosh’s sake, I’m just wondering how in the heck people steal things so easily!
yeah I am mainly wondering WHAT makes the alarm go off.
thanks
