Is there a website that I can type a barcode into and it will tell me what the product is and how much it was?
Best answer:
No…you may be able to Google some UPC labels, but the actual product/price/etc. are programmed locally at each store. You may have one product that 5 different stores are selling, but are all different prices. Factor in special promotions or sales and you can see why they would all be different and the need to program the UPCs locally.

Can anyone tell me the text on the back cover of Specials by Scott Westerfeld?
I just borrowed Pretties and Specials from a library, and I have a habit of reading the preview text on the back. Problem is, on Specials, a good amount of the text is covered by the Library’s barcode. Can anyone tell me what the text says?
Best answer:
I hope this is right, sorry about any errors, im not going to read it back :P Hope this helps
The words have sent chills down tally’s spine since her days as a repellent, rebellious ugly. Back then Specials were a sinister rumor – frighteningly beautiful, dangerously strong, brethtakingly fast. Ordinary pretties might live their whole lives without meeding a Special. But Tally’s never been ordinary.
And now she’s been turned into one of them: superamped fighting machine, engineered to keep the uglies down and the pretties stupid.
The strength, the speed, and the clarity and focus of thinking feel better than anything Tally can remember. Most of the time. One tiny corner of her heart still remembers something more.
Still, it’s easy to tune that out – until Tally is offered a chance to stamp out the rebels of the New Smoke permanently. It all comes down to onee last chouce: listen to that tiny, faint heartbeat, or carry out the mission she’s programmed to complete. Either way, Tally’s world will never be the same

Do you know how to tell what country your food comes from?
For your Information … the first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code wherein the product was made.
Sample: all barcodes that start with 690 up to 695 are MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan
[]
This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to INFORM ourselves.
Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products ‘made in china’, so they don’t show from which country it is made.
However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember if the first 3 digits is 690 to 695, then it is Made in China .
00 ~ 13 USA & CANADA
30 ~ 37 FRANCE
40 ~ 44 GERMANY
49 ~ JAPAN
50 ~ UK
57 ~ Denmark
64 ~ Finland
76 ~ Switzerland and Liechtenstein
471 ~ Taiwan
480 – 489 ~ Philippines
628 ~ Saudi-Araba
629 ~ United Arab Emirates
690 – 695 ~ China
740 ~ 745 – Central
Bleacher, i got this list in an email. I know walmart gets many things including food from china. they seem to get around it by saying where is was distributed from on the label. That tells us what factory is was sent from but not the country of Origin. I once saw raspberries in ALDI’s from mexico, and beef also. I am like you, I want to know where my food comes from.

Please tell me what you think ( i wrote these a while ago )POEM #2….. and please check out my other posts!!?
You assume with my presence
That I have been here before
Branding me a troublemaker
As I walk through that door.
You see me as one of them
Just another rebellious child
Ignorant to the rules
Untamed and buck wild.
You have thrown on this barcode
On the nape of my neck
You have given me this title
Of lacking self-respect.
Well for your information
Although it is none of your concern,
I have worked hard for what I have
Many lessons I have come to learn.
“You should die ‘because no one loves you”
Is the greeting I woke up to
No hugs or kisses ever shared
Only beatings did I go through.
You do not know what it is like
To walk the block in these sneakers
Where the ridicule was so loud
As though it was blasting through speakers.
Tossed around like some ragdoll
No one wanting to hold you close
Take a guess at how I am feeling
I dare you to propose
That the life that you have been leading
Is one far worse than my own
Dare to look me in the eyes
And tell me pain is all that you have known.
So throw this name tag on my shirt
And false judgement on there too
If you feel good casting me aside
Then it really must suck to be you
