If something with a barcode is stolen can it be tracked to the store that bought it?
I’m not on here for answers that are morally correct. I want to know if say a book was stolen from walmart and the person resold it to a bookbuying company. Can that book be tracked to who walmart?

Yes.. It can because of the code. It has a tracking code too

Can a UPC be tracked to a certain store?
I started working for a company owned by kroger, and I was told we can return items without a receipt because an item from another store will not scan. So does e.g a bottle of sprite, have a different barcode there than any other stores?
