Hello,

This is really good informative article by rdgguys.com. I am working on this article since one month. In this you will get more information about Barcode products.

This is a free software UPC/EAN-13 barcode scanner implemented using Ruby and HornetsEye. The software extracts a scan-line from the camera image. The edges of the bars are determined and reading is attempted at different starting positions. The three guard bars and the checksum are used to increase the stability of the algorithm. The webcam is a Philips SPC900NC which has 30 fps (not 90 fps as Philips claims). However it has built-in autofocus.
